ARMOR AGAINST ROBBERY AND ASSAULT

Violence 2005, Mexico's case. Most crimes in Mexico, as in the rest of the world, are robberies. ¾ of these are committed by violent means. In 2005, nearly 4 million 250 thousand robberies were committed in the 16 biggest cities of the country alone. Of these:

  • Approximately 3 million were robberies to passers-by (pedestrians or in cars)
  • Half a million were automobile robberies
  • The fourth part of them took place in Mexico City

What kind of armor is recommendable?

Most of these crimes are committed by common criminals, and whenever there are weapons involved, they usually are of the short type, that is to say, guns whose projectiles can be stopped by the lower armor levels (levels II and III; click here to know more about armor levels).

 Vehicles that can bear it

 How much does it cost?

The average cost of this type of armor ranges between 17,000 and 40,000 dollars.
