FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

In this webpage we try to answer the most frequently asked questions by people who are interested in armors. If for some reason you feel that this section does not contain what you are interested in, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Can armor affect my car’s performance?

In general terms it does not affect it, although it will bring about a weight increment which will have its effect on the effort carried out by the engine and the suspension, with the associated wearing out. As a general rule, it can be said that the higher the level of armor, the higher the weight added to the vehicle, which means a more frequent maintenance.

A light armor can weigh about 100 kilograms, whereas a level V or VI can weigh more than 700 kilograms.

What materials are used in armoring?

Glass: The windshield, side and rear windows are armored with a combination of glass and polycarbonate. The higher the level of ballistic resistance, the thicker the glass. However, they are manufactured in a way that their thickness does not introduce any visual deformations. In addition, the armored glass does not call the attention from the outside.

Opaque parts: These are the parts of the armor which go below the vehicle’s body. The most common armoring material is ballistic steel. Like armored glass, the thicker the steel is, the more resistant.

Besides steel, there are lighter materials which include many famous brands such as Kevlar, Dyneema, Yellow Jacket, Spectra Shield or Polytenex. These are aramid or polymer synthetic fibers, which due to their high density have a great resistance to ballistic impacts.

There are those who combine two or more of these materials and give them their own name, but these simply are the armoring products available in the market. If you wish to know more about the armoring of vehicles and its history, please refer to the free encyclopaedia Wikipedia.

Is it convenient to armor only some parts of the car, for example, the windows and windshield?

It can be done but it is not recommendable. What happens in such case is that it leaves many ballistic hollows (term we use in our field to refer to the spaces that a bullet can penetrate through), which really puts the passengers’ life at stake. We do not do this kind of armor and we definitely do not recommend it.

What guarantee do I have of the seriousness of your work?

Firstly, there is our experience: more than 15 years in the market as a successful enterprise. Moreover, all our armors are regulated by a quotation (in particular cases) or a contract (in case of bidding for companies or public institutions). In such documents we specify the characteristics of the armor, the guarantees, the delivery time, and the costs.

Is it possible to purchase my car through you and have it delivered armored?

Yes. As a matter of fact, as we have purchased a great quantity of cars to armor, we can get you deals with many agencies so you have additional discounts that are not accessible to regular customers.

Ask about your particular case, perhaps we can get you an attractive deal. Of course, in these cases we only act as good faith intermediaries: you directly pay the agency and it bills you.

Once you have done the transaction, if it is your indication, we pick your car, take it to our plant, do the armoring process, and deliver it to you; so, you are protected from the first day you drive it.
