Amanda: two assaults

Two years ago I was driving along Eje 3 Sur, when, by Colonia Buenos Aires, two young men armed with guns threatened my daughter, who was sitting in the copilot seat, and in a very bad manner asked her for us to give them everything we had, which we did right away. My daughter, who was just a preadolescent, got really scared, and for quite a while she had a lingering feeling of insecurity every time she went out to the street.
I insisted on having our vans armored. My husband wasn’t so convinced, as it represented an investment of enough importance to our budget, but he accepted in the end.
A year later he was the victim: an assailant tried to steal his van away. He first tried to break the window from the driver’s side hitting it with the butt of his revolver; as he couldn’t, he pointed the gun at my husband and fired two shots, which were stopped by the glass. My husband turned the siren on and the assailant fled. Although he was very nervous, my husband came home safe and sound.
Without the armor, who knows what would’ve happened.
